Hi there, on January 28, 2021 was released the NEW VERSION OF PACKET TRACER which is 8.0, one of the most popular simulator for networking developed by Cisco. If you are studying for the CCNA and even for the CCNP certification, you´ll need to use this tool definitely.

It's really importatant having the latest version of Cisco Packet Tracer due to it has new and valuable features that are very important to practice the new Networking concepts, besides it empowers students to explore concepts, conduc experiments, build and design networks using virtual equipment. What about the NEW FEATURES of CISCO PACKET TRACER 8.0?

The new versión of Cisco Packet Tracer will help you create simple or complex network topologies and practice different scenarios, and the the new features that was added to the simulator are the following:
 

• The appearance was changed and has a different look, which is more intuitive for the student.

• This new version 8.0 is more suitable for CCNA v7, if you are studying CCNA v6 or earlier versions you can use the version 7.2.

• Two new devices were added: the Cisco 4331 ISR and the Cisco Wireless Lan Controller 3504.

• The Physical Mode was enhanced, and the students can have a more realistic cabling experience.

• This is interesting and useful, a NETWORK CONTROLLER was added in Packet Tracer, this is similar to SDN controllers like Cisco DNA Center and APIC-EM, to practice with centralized network management, using the web GUI or APIs, so that users can access the Network Controller with a browser like in the real-world.

• Some improvements such as new themes, evaluation  updates, ability to name a rack and to distribute the device to a specific rack, PPPoE, align workspace objects, real-time activity note, response tree filter, show incorrect items in event results, additional security-related IOS commands, bluetooth tethering.
