UPDATED CISCO CCNA 200-125 CURRICULUM

CISCO CERTIFIED NETWORK ASSOCIATE 200-125 Routing and Switching is the UPDATED AND NEW VERSION of CCNA certification, which provides foundational knowledge to support network infrastructures.

This new version validates your skills to configure, operate, manage and troubleshoot small and medium-sized enterprise networks. Certified professionals will have the ability to design and operate
LANs, make connections to remote places deploying WAN technology, and mitigate basic network threats.

The following job roles are targeted by the CCNA Routing and Switching 200-125:

   -Network Administrators.
   -Network Support Engineers.
   -Network Engineer Associate.
   -Network Specialist.
   -Network Analyst.

This new version (CCNA 200-125) was available since May 17, 2016, and it is divided into four modules which contain the following topics:

CURRICULUM OVERVIEW:

MODULE 1: INTRODUCTION TO NETWORKS. 

This is the first module in your way to be certified CCNA. It has 11 chapters about the foundation for knowing networking. In this module you will learn the fundamentals of networking. The focus of each chapter is on helping to understand the basic concepts about the networks, to know the topics related basic models, examine the small networks, its services and functions and finally become familiar with the different devices,network addressing schemes and mainly protocols that a Network engineer needs to learn yes or yes. Following all the topics covered in this module:

MODULE 2: ROUTING AND SWITCHING ESSENTIALS. 

This module focuses on the routers and switches functions in an small network, you will learn how is the architecture, the main components, the kind of operations and the basic functionality of these networking devices. It has 10 chapters, where you will find topics related to how to configure basic routing, switched networks, lessons about VLANs, security using ACLs, DHCP, NAT and finally interesting tools to monitor, manage and maintain networks. MODULE 3: SCALING NETWORKS.

In this module which has 10 chapters, you will see larger and more complex networks and all the components and architecture, as well as how the routers and switches work in it. You are going to be taught protocols such as STP, VTP, DTP, RSTP, HSRP, Etherchannel, routing protocols like OSPF, EIGRP and advanced operations of routers for IPv4 and IPv6 and surely troubleshoot these networking aspects. Next we have all the topics in this module: 

MODULE 4: CONNECTING NETWORKS.
 

This is the last module of CCNA and it has 8 chapters. For a network engineer knowing WAN technologies is very important, and many sections and topics are dedicated to that important subject, learning protocols like PPP, PPPoE, GRE and so on. You will review extended ACLs for IPv4 and IPv6. There are also topics related to security, QoS, Virtualization, SDN and finally troubleshoot end-tp-end connectivity in a small to medium-sized network. This is the module which has changed several chapters in the last version of CCNA (200-125), and you can check it with more detail in the following picture:
